A rounded bellmouth smooths the transition into the intake tube instead of leaving a sharp pipe edge at the filter. The matched filter keeps that airflow path protected, making the kit a useful finishing component for a custom intake rather than running an unfiltered open stack.
Connect to the matching 3.5-inch intake with the appropriate silicone coupler and two clamps. Always run the supplied filter; unfiltered air can carry debris into the engine.
